Entrants, riders, and participants are required to know and understand the rules and regulations that cover MX RACER sanctioned event and are (by reason of their entry) definitely bound by such. Each participant has the responsibility to assess the safety aspects of track facilities and GENERAL RULES FOR COMPETITION: All participants at a MX RACER are sanctioned . 1. There must be at least 3 entries to make up a class. If there are less than three entries, they may participate in the next higher class or age level at the discretion of the Track Steward. 2. The machine qualified, or used in the first moto, must be used for all motos in that event, unless specific exemption is requested of and granted by the Track Steward. 3. Anyone riding under a fictitious name, or riding under another’s name or in place of another rider shall be disqualified from all events entered, and suspended from further competition with MX RACER pending an investigation. No one except officially entered riders may ride or practice on the racecourse during the day’s event. 4. If a rider leaves the course during a race for any reason he/she must re-enter at the point of exit. I f it is UNSAFE OR IMPOSSIBLE to re-enter at the point of exit, the rider may re-enter the track at the next safe place as long as said rider does not improve his/her position. Any rider caught cutting the track will be penalized at the discretion of the Track Steward. 5. A race may only be stopped and restarted due to a gate malfunction, rider safety issue, or a crash occurring not past the first turn which affects over one third of the entrants. Any restart shall be at the discretion of the race starter or Track Steward. A race shall be deemed final if 50% or more of the laps are completed. 6. A lapped rider must move over at all times or be penalized at the discretion of the Track Steward. 7. Any unsafe & intentional hitting or bumping, taking out, or unsafe riding that is deemed dangerous by the Track Steward, will be grounds for disqualification or penalty as deemed appropriate. UN-sportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. 8. Gates may not be saved prior to the rider being called to the gate by the starter. 9. Helmets are required at all times. All riders must wear industry standard safety gear at all times. No loose clothing, no short sleeves, jerseys must be tucked in. No item shall be attached to the helmet or gear if it posses a potential safety hazard. 10. MX RACER officials reserve the right to refuse entry to any person, if said person or bike does not adhere to MX RACER rules and regulations herein. 11. It is the rider’s responsibility to be at the line for the start of his or her event. The starter will signal for the riders to get ready for the start once he has determined that the race can start safely, and may, at his sole discretion, hold a start for not more that 2 minutes for a rider experiencing mechanical difficulty. 12. Starts: All persons other than the designated mechanic must exit the starting area when the white flag comes out in the current race. Mechanics must move 3 ft. behind the bikes when the 30sec. Board goes up. The Starter, in select classes and at his sole discretion, may allow a parent/mechanic to “steady” the rider on the line. At no time shall anyone “push off” or otherwise assist a rider off the line in such a way that it provides an advantage for that rider. Any rider “jumping” the gate will be disqualified from that moto, or docked laps at the discretion of the Track Steward. 13. The rider is responsible for the actions of his or her parents, family members; mechanic, friends, or anyone else associated with him/her, and may be penalized or disqualified for the actions of those persons. Verbal harassment of officials will not be tolerated. Any physical abuse of officials will be grounds for permanent expulsion. 14. Anyone soliciting or distributing literature on the race grounds must first get permission from MX RACER. 15. All bikes are subject to impound and inspection at the discretion of the MX RACER officials. Bikes of particular interest to officials must be submitted for tear down and evaluation. Failure to produce a bike for inspection will be grounds for disqualification of that day’s event, and may lose points previously earned in earlier series events. 16. Original birth certificates must be submitted to MX RACER officials upon request for verification. The rider’s age as of the first race date of the current series shall determine the appropriate c lass for the rider in that series. Any rider found to be riding out of their age group will be disqualified from that days events, and lose all points accumulated for that series. Riders found to be riding out of class will NOT have their points move with them to the next higher class. 17. Any rider deemed to be riding in a class lower than his or her riding ability will be moved up at the sole discretion of the track officials. SANDBAGING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. 18. No refunds or rain checks will be made once racing begins. 19. No one is allowed to question or contact the scorers while races are underway. 20. Any trophies or prizes not picked up by the end of the day may be forfeited. 21. Pump gasoline only. Gasoline must be produced by a recognized commercial manufacturer, and available to the general public. Race Fuels must meet ASTM-D439 standard. NO EXOTIC FUELS. 22. MX RACER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AMMEND OR MODIFY ANY RULE, OR ESTABLISH ANY NEW RULE AT ANY TIME, AS THE SITUATION MAY WARRANT. PROTESTS AND PENALTIES: All protests, rather of rider, bike or rule violation must be clearly stated in writing. The rider submitting the protest must sign all protests. Only riders racing in the same class at the protested rider may file said protest. The signed protest must be accompanied by a cash fee of $200 if protesting a bike, or $100 if protesting a rider, and delivered to the Track Steward in a timely manner. In the event of a bike protest, $100 will be awarded to the person winning the protest, while the remaining $100 will be held by MX RACER to cover tear down and administrative costs associated with the protest. MX RACER will in no instance be responsible or liable for re-assembly of the protested bike. Any bike found to be illegal for the class in which it is being raced, said rider of the bike will be disqualified from that days event, and may lose points earned in that series. Protests on a rider’s age or classification will not be taken until after the first moto is run. An investigation will be started to determine the facts. Once the facts are established, action as deemed appropriate by MX RACER will be taken. Any protest of finishing position in an individual Moto, or the overall day’s result must be submitted within 30 minutes of posting of race result. If no protest is received, the finishing positions become official at the 30 minute mark. ALL PROTEST IS A MATTER BETWEEN TWO INDIVIDUALS AND WILL BE TREATED AS SUCH. THE PARTIES INVOLVED MUST MAKE A GOOD WILL EFFORT TO RESOVE ANY ISSUE BETWEEN THEMSELVES. TECHNICAL & SAFETY INSPECTION: 1. All bikes must be suitable for competition. The bike must be designed for high performance use with safety in mind. Any bike deemed by the Track Steward as unsafe for competition will not be allowed to race. 2. All kickstands must be removed. 3. Brakes must be in good condition, properly adjusted, and capable of locking both the front and rear wheel. 4. Throttles must be spring return and in proper working order. 5. There must be a functional “kill button” on the left handlebar of the bike. 6. No part of the bike shall protrude in such a way as to present a safety hazard to riders. 7. Numbers must be of block style and clearly readable by the scorers. OFFICIAL FLAGS/LIGHTS: Green- Start of Race -race in progress White-One lap to go to finish Checker-Race Completed, exit the track. Red- Race stopped/Emergency Situation, Yellow-Slow down, exercise extreme caution, no jumping or passing, obey signals from track personnel. A yellow flag normally indicates that a rider is down on or near the track. Racing or jumping during a yellow condition will be grounds for penalty. Black-Disqualification of Rider-scoring of rider stops. Blue/Yellow-Move over for faster rider. 50CC 2 STROKE SPECIFICATIONS: Stock Class: See Track Steward regarding bikes allowed in this class. Maximum displacement 51cc. Overbore allowed only to those size pistons specified by the original manufacturer for that particular bike and engine. Aftermarket piston and ring allowed. Original engine, carburetor, frame, pipe and silencer, front suspension, clutch, brakes, wheel size, swing arm, and gas tank must be maintained. Must maintain stock clutch and transmission. No changes may be made to the engine or carburetor. No porting, blueprinting, dimensional matching, or removal of gaskets. No other changes or factory options that contribute to the increase of power allowed. Stock qualification is limited to that model and year. No upgrading to current year specifications. Handlebar width not to exceed 30”. All other bike and rider limitations will be up to the discretion and judgment of the Track Steward. Modified Class: See Track Steward regarding bikes allowed in this class. Maximum displacement 61cc. Engine modifications open. Must maintain single speed transmission. Clutch optional Suspension modification, overall length and height is open. Handlebar width not to exceed 30”. 50CC 4 STROKE SPECIFICATIONS: Stock Class: See Track Steward regarding bikes allowed in this class. Maximum displacement 51cc. Carburetor and Reeds may be changed. Must maintain stock airbox. Clutch plates/basket may be changed. RIDER ADVANCEMENT/BEGINNER CLASSIFICATIONS: Starter: 6 months or less racing experience. The Starter class is for those riders who are new to the sport of motocross. MX RACER recognizes that the rider’s age and ability shall be the determining factor in choosing which class to race. Riders may not enter lower classes than that which they are classified by other sanctioning bodies. Any rider deemed by the Track Steward to be “riding considerably above the class average”, may be moved to a higher class at the sole discretion of the track officials. In rare instances, a rider may request or be allowed to move down a class if it is determined by the Track Steward that said rider may be a danger to himself or other riders in the class entered, or said rider is found to be riding at a level that is average of the class he/she will drop down to. RACE SCORING : Points per moto, low points win overall, 2nd moto is tie breaker 1ST-1PT 2ND-2PT 3RD-3PT ETC. DNF-max points +2, must complete one lap.
